Ocean of God’s Love

I always long for a faraway place in the mountain. Deep in the woods with mist and old trees. My heart yearns for a home I can not name. I sense Your loving embrace in the way the grass bends under the wind.

I rebelled against the world You created for I am not familiar with Your way. I thought I am a shell of my body. I thought I am my mind. I thought I am my glory. I was indignant at Your silence. I am only a child.

I saw humanity in the way old people smile. They have their wisdom. Meanwhile, I am only a child. I am angry at Your distance.

I saw sorrow and pleasures in the way people hunger. I found it in the poor and the greedy. I am only a child. I am weak that You make me feel lonely.

Why am I crying so?

O heart

Do you see it in the way birds live without the need to toil?

Do you see it in the way the moon and stars shine with a gentle fierceness?

O heart

Why do you suffer so?

How wretched this self of mine!

I am drowning in a deep reverence for the majesty of the mountains and the sky. I am merely a single leaf on a wondrous river. I can not fight anymore. I delight in the way the water kisses my skin and the birds sing Your songs.

I sense Your loving embrace in the way the grass bends under the wind. It is all ocean of God’s love. It is all ocean of God’s love.
